GAME 8: CLASS 4A BOYS
The final game of the night was almost as exciting as the
second game of the day. The Class 4A East Boys took an early 12-7 lead, but the
West Boys came back to grab 19-17 leads after one quarter and 43-39 at
halftime. The West still had a 58-51 lead late in the third period, but the
East scored the final nine points of that quarter to lead 60-53 going into the
final period. The West’s last lead was 65-64 with 5:20 to play in the game
before the East scored 11 of the game’s next 12 points to lead 75-66. The West
twice cut the lead to three points before the East held on to win 83-79.
Recipients of the Mental Attitude
Awards were the West’s Jarrett Bragg of Marion and the East’s Keenan Barlow of
Indianapolis Cathedral. The East’s Chris Kirtz of Muncie Central was named the
game’s Most Valuable Player.
